Kariavattom is the university suburb just south of Kazhakkoottam, and its skyline is the Greenfield International Stadium, officially The Sports Hub, which opened in 2015 opposite the University of Kerala's Kariavattom campus. The roughly 50,000-capacity ground has hosted India's men's internationals since 2017, most recently the ODI against West Indies on 27 September 2026, stages every match of the Kerala Cricket League, and held the 2015 SAFF Championship football. The Sports Authority of India's LNCPE campus next door hosts national camps and athletics meets. On match days the highway slows to a crawl, so plan to arrive two hours early.
