Things to do in Thampanoor

Thampanoor is the transport hub: Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station and the KSRTC Central Bus Station face each other across the road, and most visitors arrive here. It is also the city's cinema quarter. The state film corporation's Kairali, Sree and Nila screens, New Theatre and Ariesplex SL Cinemas at Overbridge are all within walking distance of one another, which is why the International Film Festival of Kerala feels concentrated here every December, with delegates walking between screenings. Budget and mid-range hotels around Aristo Junction host small conferences, press shows and touring stand-up nights. East Fort is about a kilometre south.
