The Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters follows on the lawns of Kanakakunnu Palace, held from 29 January to 1 February in 2026. Dates for the 2027 editions had not been announced at the time of writing. Through the rest of the year there are book launches at the Press Club and Ayyankali Hall, publishers' book fairs, lectures at the State Central Library, founded in 1829, and poetry readings on Manaveeyam Veedhi and at Alliance Française. Most events are in Malayalam, with English sessions at the larger festivals. This page lists literary events in Thiruvananthapuram, updated daily.
