The city's sport is split between two ends of town. At Kariavattom, the 50,000-capacity Greenfield International Stadium hosts India's cricket internationals, most recently the ODI against West Indies on 27 September 2026, and every match of the Kerala Cricket League. In the centre, Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium at Palayam is home to Thiruvananthapuram Kombans in the Super League Kerala, whose 2026 season runs to 12 December with home games on 23 October, 8 November and 13 November. University Stadium next door takes athletics meets, Jimmy George Indoor Stadium at Vellayambalam has volleyball, basketball and badminton, and the UST Trivandrum Marathon is on 15 November 2026.
