Heritage Walks & History Events in Trivandrum
Nothing is listed for coming up yet โ new events are added every morning, so check back soon.
Trivandrum was the capital of Travancore, and its heritage is concentrated in three walkable pockets. The Fort area around the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple holds Kuthiramalika Palace, built in the 1840s and named for the 122 horses carved under its roof, along with old agraharam streets and Chalai bazaar. Palayam has a mosque, a cathedral and a temple side by side, Connemara Market and the 1896 Victoria Jubilee Town Hall. The Museum quarter has Napier Museum, an 1880 Indo-Saracenic building, the zoo and Kanakakunnu Palace. Volunteer groups run weekend heritage walks, and the calendar includes living traditions such as the Arattu processions to Shanghumugham Beach and the Navaratri idol procession. Note that the temple admits only Hindus in traditional dress. This page lists heritage walks, museum programmes and history talks in Thiruvananthapuram.
