About Kairali Sree Nila Theatre Complex
Kairali, Sree and Nila are the three screens of the theatre complex run by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation at Aristo Junction in Thampanoor, a few minutes' walk from the railway station. It is a working first-run cinema for Malayalam and other releases for most of the year. In December it is one of the busiest venues of the International Film Festival of Kerala, and the Chalachitra Academy's documentary and short film festival, IDSFFK, is also screened here. Film societies and the academy use the screens for retrospectives, premieres and tribute screenings, usually free and open to the public.
