About Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan
Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan is the Kerala government's multi-purpose cultural complex at Nalanda Junction in Nanthancode, named after the Malayalam poet Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon and run under the Department of Culture. Its campus includes a traditional koothambalam-style theatre and open-air performance space, which makes it a natural home for Kathakali, Koodiyattam, Mohiniyattam and chamber music as well as contemporary theatre. The centre runs its own dance and music festivals and children's programmes, and other institutions hire it regularly: Alliance Française de Trivandrum, for example, has staged performances here in 2026. Most programmes are free or modestly priced.
