About Technopark (Park Centre)
Technopark was conceived by the Kerala government in 1990 and dedicated to the nation in 1995 as India's first IT park. Its official site describes a 768-acre campus spread over several phases around Kazhakkoottam, with Technocity further north. Park Centre, the administration building in Phase I, has the convention hall and meeting rooms used for developer meetups, startup demo days, hackathon finals, HR and security conclaves and the park's own knowledge sessions. Employee collectives run Tech-A-Break, the annual cultural festival that opens with a carnival parade, as well as film festivals, quizzes and sports leagues at the Technopark Club. The UST campus in the park is the start venue of the Trivandrum Marathon.
