About Nishagandhi Auditorium
Nishagandhi is the open-air auditorium inside the Kanakakunnu Palace grounds and the largest performance space in the city centre. Kerala Tourism's Nishagandhi Dance Festival, a week of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniyattam and Kathakali, has been staged here since the early 1990s, and the Nishagandhi Puraskaram has been presented during it since 2013. Every December the auditorium becomes the open-air screen of the International Film Festival of Kerala and has hosted its ceremonies. Onam week's headline concerts, state award nights, music festivals and ticketed touring concerts use it through the rest of the year.
